Las Vegas 21st + Gender Reveal and more

Well much has happened since the last time I've blogged! We have taken a trip to Las Vegas for my birthday in March, a trip to Dallas in the first week of May to find out baby's gender, finished the hardest semester of college I've EVER had, had a gender reveal party with our closest family and friends,took a trip to Denver this past weekend to visit with Justin's family and celebrated Justin's 23rd birthday and our 2 year anniversary last week! Not to mention that work has been crazy busy with all of the graduating high school seniors! Oh, and we bought a car in the mix there somewhere too! I'll post some photos of our adventures from the past few months just to catch y'all up!




Vegas was an absolute blast!! Justin & I even came home with some extra cash!! Yay for blackjack!:)

Justin's 23rd birthday! We went to his favorite Mexican food restaurant and then had a cookout with some of our family.



Had some photos made with my mom (at Tanya's Creative Images!) on our anniversary! Here are a few of my favorites! The bottom photo has a photo of our first anniversary in it!:)

And last, here is us with our new car! The scion got totaled in March (tears) so we went car shopping! We ended up buying a slightly used 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe. It's our second Hyundai so I guess were now officially a "Hyundai family" We love it!

Justin, Silas and I had all been really sick for a week so on Sunday Dec 21, my mom and I decided to go to Amarillo to fill a script for medicine and do some last minute Christmas shopping. I was 41 weeks and 4 days pregnant at this point. We arrived around 2 and when we stopped at Starbucks for coffee & a potty break, I noticed I had lost a quarter size chunk of mucus plug & was feeling really crampy. I told my mom we should make the trip kind of snappy in case labor was close. We walked and shopped all afternoon and decided to eat before we left. Silas' Homebirth Video...Finally!

Okay so I know my cutie is already 8 months old... Lets just say- procrastination could seriously be my middle name. Oh well. Better late than never! I finished sorting through 4+ hours of footage from our home birth last October and narrowed it down to a 9 minute video. I'm proud of the video and even more proud of the work I put in giving birth to my amazing little man, Silas. He's the joy of my life & that was my greatest fulfillment. Silas' Homebirth Story

You may want to grab some popcorn and get cozy because I didn't leave any details out! There are pictures at the end so hang with me! :)                  Friday, October 5th was homecoming for the Perryton Rangers football team and Justin and I took our last date (unknowingly) as a married couple without kids to the game that night. We came home and watched tv until about 1:00 am. Terrible decision! 4:30am of October 6th gets here and my water breaks. I was 40 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I wanted to be sure it was really my water so I laid back down for a while and timed my contractions. They were about 30-45 seconds long about about 2 minutes apart but definitely feeling different than the Braxton Hicks contractions that I had gotten so used to. I laid in bed and shook for a good 10-15 minutes (I think from the hormones getting ready for birth). After I decided I was in real labor, I got up and spent some time on my birth ball and called the midwife. She lives 2 hours away
