Summer 2013 Family Photos

Image
My mom is a professional photographer so we get photos made of Silas quite often. Family pictures are a different story. We haven't had family photos made since Silas was first born so we decided it was time. I really wanted some nice sunset pictures and we ended up running out of sunlight way faster than we expected! I'm still super happy with how they turned out though. We are planning on taking some more in a week or so just to make sure we got everything but I wanted to go ahead and post my favorites now! In these photos, Justin is 24, I'm 22 & Silas is 10.5 months old. So I am going on a new personal adventure- dreadlocks! I was waiting to take these pictures to really get going but I'm ready to start really putting them in! I am super excited about the change! I'll write my next post on why I made the decision and all the details. That's all for now though!! Goodnight all! Brittany

Silas' Homebirth Video...Finally!

Image
Okay so I know my cutie is already 8 months old... Lets just say- procrastination could seriously be my middle name. Oh well. Better late than never! I finished sorting through 4+ hours of footage from our home birth last October and narrowed it down to a 9 minute video. I'm proud of the video and even more proud of the work I put in giving birth to my amazing little man, Silas. He's the joy of my life & that was my greatest fulfillment. Giving birth truly gives you a high that you want to experience over and over again. Hard to understand until you've done it! Here it is! Enjoy!:) http://youtu.be/-u5pKW2qF2s

Surprise visit to Denver

So Justin and I decided to take a spontaneous weekend vacation to New York City when we found out that this band Justin's been following, Shone, was going to have their first show there. We made all the plans from the plane tickets to the hotel and everything in between. We have been so busy with our day to day lives that we were so ready for some time spent together. February 7th came- the day we were taking off! We stayed in Amarillo the night before and got up early to head to the airport. We got through security and took the first plane ride to Denver.. Once we landed, we changed Silas and I fed him then we somehow ended up in the wrong gate and our plane took off without us. I was so upset that we managed to miss our flight when we were on a tight schedule with the concert starting a couple hours after we were supposed to land! Then I got to talking to a friend that lived there and he told me that he thought we may stay a few extra days because a bad snow storm was coming t
